Evaluation of a universal long-lasting insecticidal net (LLIN) distribution campaign in Ghana: cost effectiveness of distribution and hang-up activities

Lucy Smith Paintain, Elizabeth Awini, Sheila Addei, Vida Kukula, Christian Nikoi, Doris Sarpong, Alfred Kwesi Manyei, Daniel Yayemain, Etienne Rusamira, Josephine Agborson, Aba Baffoe-Wilmot, Constance Bart-Plange, Anirban Chatterjee, Margaret Gyapong, Lindsay Mangham-Jefferies Malaria Journal 2014, 13:71 (28 February 2014)

As some countries approach universal bed net coverage, it is important that more evidence be presented on how to get the most out of existing nets rather than just distributing more nets in an already saturated environment. The effectiveness of the hang-up activities, as opposed to the cost effectiveness of the distribution campaign, is a significant contribution to the existing literature.
